Ah Cthulhu was an invention of HP Lovecraft, a writer from the 1920s who wrote weird fiction that I collect.

ahhhhh, I see! Thanks for the clarification ( I don't always understand...hahahahah!) NO, that would be MOST of the time, I don't understand. But is OK with me.... :D

You're work shows a lot of Lovecraftian elements, as I would say. If you like the macabre, odd, morphic art, it is generally a compliment.

Lovecraft himself was flawed (writing in the 1920s-30s a good few of his stories have racist overtones and all are fairly pulpy), but I am deeply in love with the cultural shadow his writings cast, in art, other's fiction (from Clive Barker to Steven King to China Mieville), to music and game design.

Yes, you are right... I know very little about this type of writing. Perhaps because I had nightmares most of my life and generally steer clear of anything dark. Interesting tho!

Ah I see. I read a fair bit of horror, mostly Clive Barker, a little of Steven King, and a spattering of others. I only rarely have nightmares, and mostly they have to do with money to terrors from beyond.

teachers.... don't we ALL have nightmares about $$$$$!
ha! I use to see people floating above my bed when I was young... dead people etc...
really!
I try not to encourage the mind to go there, if I can avoid it...
Steven King is WAY over the top for me.... I would probably have an anxiety attack and that would be the end of me.. :fear:

It never fails to amaze me how two different artists can collaborate and think (and draw) two very similar figures or subjects. Very nicely done, Janelle.

Me too, I'm aquiver with anticipation (is it okay for a heterosexual male to say aquiver?).

I was also very aware of the M&M thing. We should coin the motto, "we melt in your mouth, not in your hands." :devilish: ;)

I got word from Michael that he received my corpses in the mail. I'm hoping his arrive soon too.

I've also got some other good news. I was offered a job with the public schools two days ago and I've accepted. It's a lowly library assistant's job, but it's at my old high school and my next door neighbor will be my boss (she was a math teacher who jumped at a librarian position recently).

This may slow down my submissions here, and the corpses Mike is sending me, but now my "art time" will become even MORE valuable. :)

It's a one of three local high schools (and the one I graduated from so very long ago). I'm really looking forward to it, but am currently exasperated in dealing with Human Resources. I can't believe the bureaucracy that is so prevalent. I've proven that I have a college degree, and NOW I have to prove that I have a high school diploma. Of course, I just HAD to be the wiseass and ask how one can obtain a college degree without FIRST having graduated from high school, but they weren't amused.

Some people love to squeeze every bit of power out of a title, don't they?

Is the way of education. So many background checks and hoops to jump through. Is VERY common. They want to be sure you are - who you say you are! Our Human Resource Dept is very much the same. You are going to be in a high school environment interacting with students and they are verifying the facts concerning your background. If it was the same high school, I would think there would be some kind of records in THEIR files? odd....
